Police urgently trying to locate



Police are urgently trying to locate a man they would to speak to in regards to a late night assault located near the Treehouse Bar in Selby Town Centre. The assault took place on a very busy weekend in Selby at approximately 3am on Saturday the 4th April. 

Details of the assault are as follows.

Three local residents were involved in the fight, two males aged 28 and 22. A woman aged 26 was also involved. This led to a 19 year old woman being arrested in relation to the fight. She was later released and issued with a police caution. Police would not like to map out the events which led up to the fight and the following events in the aftermath.

The police are still conducting further enquiries to establish these events. Speaking to locals in the town, Peter 28 from Cowick stated that, "It's great the police are seeking to find the full evidence from the fight which took place. People need to realise that they can no longer just go out and have a brawl in town. 

Andrea 33, a nurse from Ricall stated that people need to realise that the affects of one punch or a scuffle can give the victims serious injuries. My son will be startinf to head out in a few years time and I will fear for his safety if this stupid behaviour continues! it's out of order and must stop! People think they are untouchable when they have had a drink, they become loud and obnoxious, lookin to fight anyone. 

Over the last three years violent crime in Selby has fallen, especially nightlife violence in the town centre, however fights still breakout occasionally.

In the above case officers would like to speak with the unidentified man in the picture which has been released. It is understood that the gentleman will be able to assist the police with their enquiries.
