Come and try Benedicts brew next Wednesday as the Abbey celebrates its medieval day. The beer was created in near by Barlow by local Brown Cow Brewery.
In medieval times brewing was a daily part of monastic life and Selby Abbey is set to show visitors how beer was produced then and how it differs from the current methods.
The vicar Canon John said he hopes to see lots of people coming to the Abbey which will run from 10am - 5pm
Throughout the day their will be a variety of activities taking place including a drama workshop, music, wood turning, pottery, archery, birds of prey, a medieval bouncy castle, medieval style refreshments and a stained glass exhibition and lots more.
Admission is free.
