The yearly Selby Town Family Fun Day will be back this Sunday and it is looking bigger than ever. Mayor Rosie Corrigan will open the event. She will be joined by Kayleigh Smith a pupil from Brayton High School who won a competition to be the Mayor’s Consort for the day. The event will open at midday 12pm at the Community Centre in Scott Road. Live bands will perform throughout the afternoon on the Recreation Field from 12.30pm to 8.30pm, opening with this year’s Battle of the Bands winners Frames.Frames won battle of the bands after several heats and  a final at the Selby town Hall. On the community centre field there will be lots of food stalls,  and children’s rides. There will be a Wartime tea dance between 1.30pm and 4pm in the main hall. Weather permitting, Selby Motorcycle and Classic Car Rally will be held on the bottom field from noon to 4pm, but if the field is waterlogged the rally will take place at the car park opposite Morrison’s next to Profiles Gym. There will also be further events at Selby Park, Selby Woodwind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and South Milford Brass Band will all perform at the bandstand from 12.30pm to 4pm.
