Man 23, has jaw broken in York

Police have asked for whitenesses to come forward and contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Safer Neighbourhood Service Desk. After a man had his jaw broken in a late night assault in York.

The 23 year old man is from Liverpool but was on a night-out in York he was walking from the city centre to Windsor Street in the early hours of Saturday morning when he was attacked.He did does not know the city very well, but was heading to where he was staying after a night out.

The assaulted is unaware of the name of the last venue which he was in. It is vital for any passers by who saw any disturbances or altercations in any city centre streets near Windsor Street and Bishopthorpe Road between 2-3am on Saturday 17th May. 

The victim is approximatley 6ft tall and was wearing dark clothing and a cap at the time.

He went to hospital at home in Liverpool, and has since had to have surgery to repair his broken jaw.
